With the ever increasing importance of the web in everyday life, be that personal life or in business, web design and development over that last few years has become big business. One branch of this industry is template based website, these are ready made professional designs for websites that can be purchased and downloaded, meaning that you can have a great looking website up and running within minutes, without the need for either design skills or a great depth of technical knowledge.
Selling these templates has become big business and indeed it is something that I earn a great deal of money from.

Yes it is as simple as that, you do not need a great deal of technical knowledge as most of that work is done for you by the merchant, but please do not get me wrong here, this is no magic formula, it does take effort to promote your site and start making an income from selling templates online. It will not happen over night, but if you follow the advice given on this page it will save you time and money and increase your chances of making it a success.
If you do not get any sales, do not give up. I find that a majority of these types of site are not successful right from the start, it takes time to build them up, but rest assured if you invest the time and effort, you will be rewarded.
Just a quick note about web hosting if you sign up with GoDaddy via this link. When you register a domain name (which incidentally GoDaddy are in my experience the cheapest for domain names) you get $100 worth of free stuff bundled with the domain including web hosting, although this does have a small advert. If you want to add full web hosting you can from around $4.
Great care should be taken when choosing a merchant to affiliate to, there are many merchants out there who are less then reputable, and for some strange reason this sector of the affiliate industry seems to attract those sorts of merchants, perhaps because it is so easy to set up one of these sites.

Yet again with many of these articles that I write, the answer to this question is ‘how long is a piece of sting?’ Your earnings are only limited by your own ability to promote your site and gain sales.
The affiliate programme listed above offers commissions of 20%, if you have any experience with the affiliate industry you will know that this is a great level of commission. It means that on each sale you can make anything from £5-£25 ($10-$50).
By far the easiest way to promote your site and one which costs you nothing is make sure that you have a link to your template site from any other websites you run, a little link at the footer of your page ‘Site Template from Wow Factor Templates’. Although this will not in its self generate vast amounts of traffic, the traffic it does bring will be quality focused traffic.
You may also want to think about adding your URL to your signature when posting on forums, comments on blog posts and even in emails you send. Do be careful here that you are not seen to be abusing your signature, check that the site allows signatures to contain URLs.
Text Link Ads – As usual I am going to recommend text link ads. I use their service for promoting all of my projects, not only because they offer $100 worth of free advertising when you sign up, but also because in my experience the quality of the traffic coming from adverts placed by text link ads and the conversions to sales I get from this traffic far exceeds any other online marketing methods I use.
Bidvertiser – Again a text advertising service. Their system allows you to target countries and website categories. Very easy to sign up, very easy to create ads and get running.
Google Adwords – Google are by far the best know in this industry, however that does not necessarily make them the best…! Having said that I do use Google on most of my projects, however they do have some very strange rules and algorithms that work out how much you have to bid on a keyword.
